About this Event
Every year, from 25 Nov to 10 Dec the world unites in 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. Defined as ‘acts or threats of sexual, physical, or psychological violence occurring in and around schools’, school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV) devastates the lives of millions of students and educators globally.
During this 16-day campaign, UNGEI, Gender at Work and partners are joining forces to break the silence around SRGBV and champion key actions to end it.
Whilst this campaign is powerful and important, our efforts must not stop here.
Global write shop to #EndSRGBV
On Human Rights Day (10 Dec), a global write shop will be held online leading to the creation of an open letter. Produced collaboratively by workshop participants, the letter will be an appeal to the countries of the world to recognise SRGBV as a violation of human rights, calling on governments to take specific actions to eliminate it.
