Gender at Work India also aims to build capacity of young leaders by expanding their support systems to create transformational systemic change that advances gender equality. It has a four-pronged approach through (a) capacity building (b) mentoring (c) networking and (d) research on good practices.
#TipTheScale is a campaign to spread awareness about sexual harassment in the workplace and trigger collective action among individuals to demand and create safer working environments. We believe that one of the simplest paths to deep change is for the less powerful to speak as much as they listen and for the more powerful to listen as much as they speak. With this campaign, we aim to highlight the dangers of unequal power relations prevalent in the workplace and collectively TIP THE SCALE to end sexual harassment.
A panel discussion was held on 23rd September, 2015 that attempted to build cross-sectoral dialogue on the subject of gender equality in the workplace in India. With representation from experts in the field of development, business and academia, the panel provided an opportunity to explore the different ways through which organizations have advanced gender equality in the workplace and the challenges that both women and organizations face when addressing gender diversity. The panel is part of the Gender and Economic Policy (GEP) Discussion Forum, which is a collaborative effort that has brought together three different actors: Heinrich Böll Stiftung/Foundation India, the Indian Institute of Social Studies Trust and Gender at Work.
